The SAGE Oncotest™ is intended for patients with solid tumors when treatment decisions involve chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or other systemic treatment options. Testing may be considered when:
The patient has a solid tumor;
A fresh tissue sample can be collected during a planned surgery or biopsy; and
The oncology team is evaluating systemic treatment options.
While the SAGE Oncotest™ can be used for many types of solid tumors, a physician’s order is required.

Because each case is different, eligibility depends on tumor type, planned procedure timing, tissue availability, and physician order.
The SAGE Oncotest™ is designed for many solid tumor types, including select gynecologic, breast, gastrointestinal, brain, rare, and cancers of unknown primary origin. Suitability depends on tissue availability, clinical context, and physician order.
Examples may include ovarian, pancreatic, colorectal, breast, glioblastoma, rare solid tumors, and cancers of unknown primary origin.
The SAGE Oncotest™ is not indicated for:

Very slow growing cancers of limited clinical relevance, e.g. low-grade breast or prostate cancers.

Early cancers where surgery alone is often used to effectively manage the outcome. e.g. small skin cancers, small (hazelnut size or smaller) breast cancers.

The SAGE Oncotest™ requires fresh tissue that is suitable for live-cell laboratory evaluation. Previously collected biopsy or surgical samples are often preserved for standard pathology review and may not be suitable for this type of analysis. If a new surgery or biopsy is planned, your physician may be able to coordinate fresh tissue collection for testing. Discussing this in advance with your care team is helpful.
