Helping Support Individualized

Cancer

Treatment Decisions

Check Your Test Eligibility

Despite advances, predicting
cancer treatment response

remains

challenging

Current diagnostic approaches, including genomic testing, may not fully predict how an individual tumor will respond to therapy.

Get more informed treatment insight, faster. The SAGE Oncotest™ evaluates treatment options against your cancer tissue in our CLIA-certified laboratory to help support treatment decisions, with results available in 7-10 days.

Additional Treatment Insights

SAGE Oncotest™

The SAGE Oncotest™ evaluates a curated list of FDA-approved drugs by analyzing laboratory response patterns with your cancer tissue.

Solid tumors such as ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, or brain cancer.

Solid tumors of unknown origin.

When Should You Order

The SAGE Oncotest™

Well Before Your Surgery

If surgery is scheduled and subsequent treatment is required, contact us now to coordinate a fresh tissue sample during surgery.

If Additional Treatment Guidance Is Needed

If your oncology team is evaluating additional treatment options, the SAGE Oncotest™ may help provide laboratory insights to support treatment decision-making.

Getting Started With SAGE

Is Easy

STEP 1

Contact us prior to surgery or biopsy and we will coordinate with your physician.

STEP 2

A fresh tissue specimen is taken during surgery or biopsy and shipped to SAGE.

Frequently Asked

Questions

  • The SAGE Oncotest™ is intended for patients with solid tumors when treatment decisions involve chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or other systemic options.

    You may be eligible if:

      You have a solid tumor,
    • You are scheduled for surgery or a biopsy that can provide fresh tissue samples suitable for laboratory evaluation, and

    • Your oncology team is evaluating systemic treatment options.

  • While the SAGE Oncotest™ can be used for many types of solid tumors, a physician’s order is required.

    To quickly check whether you may qualify for testing, we recommend completing the eligibility questionnaire.

  • The SAGE Oncotest™ can be used for many solid tumor types, including:

    1. Ovarian and other gynecological cancers;

    2. Triple negative, BRCA positive, metastatic, and other advanced breast cancers;

    3. Colorectal and other gastro-intestinal cancers;

    4. Glioblastoma and other brain cancers.

    5. Cancers of unknown origin (cancers of unknown primary, CUPs) and other rare cancers.

    The SAGE Oncotest™ is not indicated for:

    • Very slow growing cancers of limited clinical relevance, e.g. low-grade breast or prostate cancers.

    • Early cancers where surgery alone is often used to effectively manage the outcome. e.g. small skin cancers, small (hazelnut size or smaller) breast cancers.

  • The SAGE Oncotest™ requires fresh tissue samples suitable for laboratory evaluation. Previously collected biopsy or surgical samples are often preserved for standard pathology review and therefore may not be suitable for this type of laboratory analysis.

    If you are scheduled for a new procedure, your physician may be able to coordinate fresh tissue collection for testing. Some cancer centers may include tissue-use policies in their consent forms, so discussing this in advance with your care team may be helpful.
